Ukyo Morpey

Dear students, sponsors and partners, My name is Ukyo Morpey and this year I will take over the position of Company Relations from Harmen Westera. I grew up in Apeldoorn and have been living in Groningen since I was thirteen, where I successfully completed the bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Since childhood I have been interested in real estate. This started early with drawing buildings and the dream of becoming an architect. Unfortunately, drawing did not stay with me, but the affinity with buildings or real estate did. That is why I started this year with the master Real Estate Studies at the University of Groningen to increase my knowledge of the various facets of the national and international real estate market. The master Real Estate Studies offers a broad view of the real estate market from spatial and economic perspectives, so that students are well prepared for their career as a real estate professional! In addition, this year I started setting up my own company in the real estate sector. We advise foreign investors on the purchase, sale and operation of real estate. In addition to the master Real Estate Studies and my own company, I want to expand my qualities and knowledge within the real estate world even more. The function as Company Relations within the R.E.C.G. offers a solution in this regard, partly due to the continuous contact with our sponsors and partners. This year, together with my fellow board members, our sponsors and partners, I hope to bring the real estate sector even better to the attention of interested students. In addition, this year is of course dedicated to the first Lustrum of the R.E.C.G. A good time to look back at what we have already achieved in recent years and to look ahead to the years to come! I trust it will be a great year!
